Our get together

It has been so hard to find time with all the families to get together since Jennifer and Matt, Emma and Logan have arrived.  We finally got the chance to meet for Dinner about an hour from here.  The kids have grown so much since we last saw them in March
It was about 92 here yesterday.  That is about 20 degrees higher than normal.  But the restaurant was air conditioned.

We took these pictures outside and the sun was in our eyes.
A very happy Nana and Papa!
Our lovely Jennifer (she is our oldest)
They are coming to spend a few days with us in a few weeks.  They were already able to buy a new house last Friday.  So in a few months we will be able to go see them.
We are so blessed!

They are just a few hours away.

I have waited for my daughter Jennifer, son in law Matt, grandkids Emma and Logan to move closer to us for about 10 years now.  Matt is in the Military.  They have arrived at Fort Lewis Washington.  So that means they are within about 4 to 5 hours of us.

I am getting so excited  to see everyone.  I praise God that they had a safe trip.

Memories of Adam

In memory of Adam
It has been 13 years ago that my nephew Adam went to live with the Lord.  This picture is of his family.  Adam is to the far right standing next to his mom (my sister Joyce) and then Scott (his dad), his brother Brandon and his wife Amy.
One of the best memories I have is when they came to Oregon to visit and we all went to see the Pacific Ocean.  It was the first time the boys had ever seen the Ocean.
the sun was streaming bright and we were able to catch these memories.
The beauty was breathtaking.
I miss you Adam but I  know one day I will see you again.  Your life on earth was a short 20 years and I thank God that I got to be on your journey with you.
John 14:1-4 ”Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” (Jesus’ words)

Happy Annniversary Holly & Ricky

Today marks the 5th Wedding anniversary for our daughter Holly and her husband Ricky.  Congratulations you two!
This picture was just taken as they celebrated an early Anniversary in California last week.

Holly and Ricky love to hike and be outdoors.

We couldn't be more happier to see Holly and Ricky explore things on their journey of Marriage and their walk with God.

Happy Fathers Day Dad!

Happy Fathers Day Dad! Sending hugs across the miles.

I have been so blessed to have to have my dad.  He is always the first to volunteer and he is a great cook and makes sure that every one goes away from the table stuffed.  He has a heart of gold.
Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Birthday Mom

Happy Birthday Mom.....sending birthday hugs across the miles.
My mom has a heart of gold always seeing to the needs of others before herself.  She is such a blessing to all.
I was able to see her the first part of March when we we went back to watch my grand kids.  And we talk often on the phone.
Happy Birthday Mom!

So Happy Together

Our Communication journals have really helped Marvin and I grow spiritually and helped to write feelings, bible verses, memories or anything in the others journal each day.  We started these journal in January 2012.  It is amazing that sometimes we write something on the same subject.

Last Friday morning when I opened my journal Marvin's first words to me were "We're so happy together"and then he shared a bible verse with me from Timothy"So happy together".  I thought that was funny because I didn't think that the Message station on the satelitte would play that song .  As I backed out of the garage I was a little annoyed because I could not see the station on the screen when I was in reverse because the back camera comes on.  Anyway as I started driving I could see the song was "So Happy together" by the Turtles and it was on the thumb drive that Marvin has put several of our favorite songs on.  Then it finally dawned on me that Marvin set the whole thing up.  My smile that morning was so bright as I drove to worked and listened to the song 4 times.  What a sweet romantic guy I have.

Marriage is a lot of work and it is little things that cost nothing that we do that mean the most to us.   Our communication journals have worked for us.

The Beautiful Pacific Ocean

We rented a house at the coast to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. When we arrived we walked straight outside to see the view.

Beautiful and sunny.  A little cloudy.  It was around 2:30 when we checked in and it looked like it would be a beautiful sunset.

This was the view from the living room.
We took a little walk and noticed that we were in the Tsunami Hazard Zone.  We had no worries because we knew they had a local activation system and we would would have time to move if we needed to.
Marvin and Einstein enjoying the view from our backyard.  It was a fenced yard but the fence was divided into two levels so we still had to keep any eye on Einstein.
Einstein wasn't sure what to think.  He did not like the wind and the waves scared him.  We did not get that sunset either.  It clouded up really fast.
This picture was taken on Sunday when it was cloudy and windy all day.  Marvin was holding the camera and we had a problem getting Einstein in the picture.

Here Marvin was relaxing and Einstein was too.

We had a wonderful time at the beautiful Oregon coast but we wished we could have stayed more than two nights.
