Thankful Thursday

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
I am thankful for our bible study that is continuing on the book "The Story"  Randy Frazee does a good job helping us understand the chapters with the DVDS that are with each chapter.  We love our small group too.
I am thankful for the series "The Bible"  that we just got done watching.   It goes hand in hand with our sermons and bible studies.   I think it was wondefully produced and worth watching.
I am thankful for our granddaughters Kayla and Morgan.
They are growing so much.  They came down for a visit last week.
We also had a nice visit with our son Jeremy (the girls dad) and his wife Sara (which I did not get a picture of)  Prayers for Jeremy are needed as he continues to have more work done with the wart removal on his foot.  This is the second time within a few weeks that they did the painful procedure which leaves in in so much pain and hard to walk.  Jeremy takes medication for his Ulcerative colitis that affects has immune system.  This makes it worse trying to get rid of the warts which are viruses.
I am thankful for my dear friend Stacey that send me a card to let me know how much I mean to her and a picture that her son Porter drew for me.  It was a pleasant surprise and it made me smile.
I am thankful that our communication journals are still being used.  We started on 1/10/2012 writing comments, bible verses, memories or anything we have on our minds in the other persons journal.    Every week day morning I cannot wait to see what is written in my journal by my husband.
I am thankful that our son in law Matt in Kansas is healing well from his shoulder surgery last week.    I am also thankful for our daughter Jennifer that is able to take care of him while he is not able to do alot of things including driving.
And here is a little surprise.  I am not sure anyone can tell yet but I have lost 18 pounds in this picture.  I have a long way to go and I will be blogging about as I move forward.  Isn't my baby boy cute... he loves his mommy.......

A precious gift that God gave us 33 years ago today.

Happy 33rd Birthday today to our daughter Jennifer.  How time seems to fly so fast.  It just seemed like yesterday that you were a baby.  You are a gift from God.  He gave you your dad and I as parents to guide you until you were old enough to fly on your own.
When I look back I think about  all the life lessons that we went through together and we still are doing that through the Holy Spirit.  Some times were tough but most were full of joy.  The understanding became clearer to dad and I as as we got to the know the gift that God let us borrow for 18  years.
Your journey now continues on with raising your gifts.  There will be tough times but mostly times of joy.  Enjoy every moment on your journey.   We are so excited that you will be closer to us in a few short months so we can spend time with you and your family.

You have grown up to be a beautiful woman that loves the Lord and your family.  We thank God that he chose us to be your parents.

We love you Jennifer!

This picture was taken Friday.  I just got done exercising so my hair is a mess.  My baby Einstein is my baby.  He has given me so much joy and happiness.

He loves my granddaughter Kayla too
He got to go hiking with Holly and Marvin and he made it all the way up Mt. Piscah.
He takes me for walks when the weather is nice.  Literally he makes me walk faster which is great exercise.

I am so thankful that our 5 year old grandson  Logan  is recovering well from a concussion that he got yesterday.
Here he is pictured with his mom and our daughter Jennifer.  Logan as adventurous as he is climbed an outdoor playground toy at day care and fell and hit his head.  He soon started vomiting so his mom had the good sense to take him to the E/R.  After a thorough checkup the Doctor felt that a CT scan was not necessary at this point.  He advised my daughter that there have been studies in children that when radiation is used in a CT Scan it can cause brain cancer in the future.  Since he looked good he was sent him home so his parents could watch him.  He did have an egg sized knot on the back of his head and a headache but he stopped vomiting and he was alert.   He seems to be doing fine is what our daughter told me this morning.

I am also thankful for all the prayer warriors and our church for praying for healing for Logan.   I also was able to talk to my mom and ask her to pray.  Just hearing my moms voice made me feel better.  Thanks be to God for healing Logan.
