While I haven't been blogging I have been taking care of my body.  I have lost 40 pounds since February.  My weight loss consists of a 1200 calorie diet and exercise.  Lots of exercise.  I love Leslie Sansome's walking workout cd's.  I usually will do the 4 BIG miles or the 5 miles boosted walking cd's 5 times a week.  So to reward myself for taking of 40 pounds this is what we did.
rode horses on the beautiful Oregon coast

Marvin and I had neither rode horse for 45 years.....so needless to say we forgot how you feel after you ride.  We rode for 2 hours,

Here is a recent picture.

I have a lot of blogging to catch up and I will get to it as soon as I can.  A lot of exciting things happening with all my kids within a 2 to 5 hour drive.

Happy Birthday Emma!

Happy 9th birthday to our granddaughter Emma!

Marvin and I did not get to meet Emma until she was 6 weeks old because she was born in Germany while her dad was in the Military over there  You can old imagine how anxious we were to get there and hold Emma and we did hold her. How beautiful and precious she was and still is.  She is growing up so fast

She likes to fish
she plays soccer

she roller skates
She has a beautiful smile and beautiful brown eyes like her mommy and Papa
She was just a beautiful flower girl
she helped make cupcakes for her birthday party
She shared a birthday party with her Aunt Sara

I took Emma on a birthday shopping spree.

Emma is modeling her hairband, purse and slippers just a few things she bought on her shopping spree
Here Emma is with her mom, dad and brother Logan.

Emma has the most beautiful voice.  She sang the cup song for me and she blew me away.  We are so blessed to have Emma and loved getting to spend time with her.

Happy Birthday!

We love you Emma!

Happy Anniversary

Happy 11th Anniversary to our daughter Jennifer and her husband Matt.
Matt and Jennifer headed to Germany shortly after they were married.  After that they were stationed in upstate New York, Georgia, Kansas and now in Washington.  I think they have it down living the military life.   Matt has had 3 deployments during their marriage.  We are so proud of both of them as it takes a huge commitment.
What a journey they have been on.  They have been blessed with two children Emma 8 and Logan 5. We are so excited they are so much closer to home so we can spend more time together.

Congratulations Jennifer and Matt

We love you!

A fun weekend

Saturday night Marvin and had "date night".   We went to Sears and bought a new washer.  (our front loader) is in pretty bad shape.  I have never liked that washer from the beginning anyway.  We bought a top loading high efficacy washer. I can't wait to get it.  That was the start of the date well actually we had to stop and get gas in my SUV first it was almost 70.00.  I just hate the high gas prices. Next it was on Roadhouse steakhouse.
There he is my handsome hubby my date......He chose to have steak while I stayed within my diet and had a Salad with Mesquite chicken on the top.  The dressing was a yummy lemon dill.  We had an early meal since Marvin had worked all day.  I was able to get the house clean and run errands while he was gone.

We were back home early and watched the new Gold Rush show in South America.  Perfect romantic date for me.....

Our Pastor was back this morning from his sabbatical.  During the first 2 weeks he was gone he took a group of people to Israel.  It is really expensive to go.  He said they may go again in 2 years.  We are really interested in going.

I am getting excited this weekend as Marvin and our son Jeremy  are tearing out the carpet in the Master bedroom and putting in a Laminate wood floor.  I think it will help my allergies a lot.  We have real Oak floor throughout the rest of the house.

Our grandkids have been enjoying the water and nice weather
Pictured is 5 year old Logan and 8 year old Emma tubing.

6 year old Morgan and 9 year Kayla are posing as there new backyard pool is filling.  I didn't realize how deep it is.  The girls have both have had swimming lessons.  We will be up there in a few weeks and may decide to take a dip.

Have a Blessed week!

A little of this and little of that

I have to be honest my heart just isn't into blogging,    I have been enjoying reading books by a new found author Lori Wick.  I almost done the Kensington Chronicles.  I can hardly put the books down.

I am missing the family.  Kayla Emma Morgan and Logan, and all my kids and their spouses.  I can't wait until we can all get together,  It just seems everyone either has to work or they already have plans.

We are about to start a new project in a couple of weeks.  Our son Jeremy and his family will be down to help.

Yesterday while Marvin was working I went to Farmers market, grocery store and pet food store and then I read my book a little and ate some lunch.  Einstein and I took a 30 minute nap in the recliner and then I hopped up to do some cleaning.  I noticed the kitchen sink was leaking.  We are still trying to get the part off that needs to be replaced.

A couple of weeks my Einstein was so sick.  He was vomiting and had the runs.  I ended up taking him to the vet hospital.  They think he ate something bad.  They gave him a shot and sent him home with antibiotics.  He is finally back to his normal self.

It was a beautiful cool 49 degrees this morning.  We sat outside with a fire in the fire pit

I was able to snap a picture of this beautiful Eurasian Collared-Dove this morning when we were sitting in our back yard. We hear them singing sometimes but they have never come this close before.

This morning we also could not believe our eyes when the bluebird pictured helped himself to the bag of peanuts in Marvin's shop. He poked a hole in the bag. Lesson learned not to leave the shop door open.

The beautiful flowers I posted are from my yard.  The Lord has blessed has blessed us with so much beauty,   I am thankful that I have opened my eyes to see it.
