This and That

I haven't been real busy just lazy.  I enjoyed the extra hour of sleep and all the extra sleep from the weekend.  I guess that is what I needed.
This is my Thanksgiving potpourri
Our daughter Holly made these very cute paper dolls to send to our granddaughter (sponsored) child in Africa.  Brenda is 8 years old so I think she will like them.  Can you tell it is Marvin, Brenda and me?

We have been enjoying our bible study so much and have learned so much from our group.  Last week a couple brought in their daughter's 2002 Olympic Torch that she carried so that was neat to be able to see.  And then the same couple (Jim) talked about how he was an aide to Dwight Eisenhower when they were in Berlin.  So we got a history lesson.  We actually were talking about the first time we received communion and since I was Catholic and brought up the Church he started to talk about a Catholic Church in Berlin.   This is our last week and I am going to miss this group.
We only had 4 trick or treaters this year.  There were not very many lights on our street.  For each of the granddkids I made up a bag of candy and also send  a letter.  I made the stationary with the pictures of the animals.  I thought it would be fun to take a picture next to our fake pumpkin with each of the animals.  I don't know what I was thinking.
We started with Max he actually ended up doing pretty well
Next was Tiger- you can tell he was not very happy

And then Khloe she wanted nothing to do with it

I had such a sweat worked up we finally gave up on her.

Hope you have a great week!

What a cute "pumpkin" container of leaves! Mine would still all be green, ha!

I'm sure Brenda will really enjoy your felt replicas. Holly did a great job! Did she have templates? I would have to have some or mine would turn out looking like what you would see in those mirrors at the fair that contort your body, ha!

I have really enjoyed my class on Wednesday mornings too! We are in Revelation. Nellie has shared she really enjoys her Bible class on Thursday mornings! I have a couple more weeks, then we will start back in January.

I never have any trick/treators. I am down a dead-end street off of a culdesac. There are only four houses. I don't think anyone knows we're back here. That's okay. Having four dogs, I can just imagine every time the door bell rang! I'd have a massive exit to the door with barking beyond degree! Three big dogs and a little yapper! Ha!

Max took a good picture! Tiger's personality really shows. It's adorable. It's like he's saying, "Here we go again!" LOL! Khloe is like my Sarah (cat.) She wants nothing to do with handling, much less me directing her to do anything!

You have a great week! I surely enjoy reading your blogs!

Love to you and yours,

Hi Janet,
Holly did a great job on the paper dolls, how cute and what a great idea, Brenda will probably love them.
That was a cute idea to take a pic of your pets with the pumpkin, too bad,
they are like kids, that they don't cooperate when you really want them

We actually had more trick or treaters than usual. It is very dark in our neighborhood with no
street lights so that usually deters people from our neighborhood unfortunately, cause I do enjoy seeing them. But we didn't have a ton.......but some years we have had none or just one or two. I would say we had about 2-15 groups.
It sort of sneaked up on me this year and I didn't by any extra candy, cause we never have any, so I was giving away our dark chocolate from our candy dish and bubbles from the reception and emptying some of our favor boxes that were leftover too, but fortunately that was enough.

Glad you are getting some rest, but don't get so lazy you forget to drop by and see me!! lol

Love and blessings hon,

Hi Janet, Thanks for the comment on my blogging poem. Always nice to hear from you. Your pumpkin is cute. The pets weren't too crazy about it...but hey, you tried! (:>)

We had quite a few trick or treaters this least more than last year, but the weather was nice so that makes a difference.

That's neat that you have an adopted 8 yr. old girl in Africa. Those were cute cutouts and she will think they are fun!

We had a lovely Sunday...I hope you did too.

Love, Linda
