Yesterday we went and enjoyed God's beauty at the Tulip Festival. Tulips are one of my most favorite flowers. There were fields and fields of Tulips. The beauty was so great that I almost in tears. The day was a beautiful warm 60 degrees with blue skies. Our daughter Holly met us there with her dogs Shane and Shelia so they are in the pictures too.
I had such a hectic morning at work and to top it off my hand hurt pretty bad. I think it was overused yesterday with my mouse at work. It is still cramping pretty bad. So besides the hectic work life I have some personal issues that I trying not to worry about. Anyway there were several times I had to remind my self not to get so frustrated. And then something happened. On the base of my computer screen I have three things. A little rock like stone that says friends, a small wooden cross, and a coin that has written it a verse that reads "Follow the footprints of the Lord. They will lead you through troubled times and brighten your life" That coin came sliding down off my base of my computer screen and my heart was racing because it scared me so bad because I didn't know what the noise was until I realized what it was and what had happening. I am thanking the Lord for this little reminder.
I have been so busy at work that by the time I get home I am too tired to BLOG. Tomorrow Good Friday we are off. Isn't that great to have a paid day off for Good Friday?
I have a list of things to do tomorrow, the Easter Dinner menu needs to be planned.. Holly and Ricky will be here on Saturday night to eat with us and to go to Easter services on Sunday. I still have to put together Kayla and Morgans baskets. I will not see them until next week so that when we will celebrate.
So off to work I go today, then head to a committee meeting at Church and then attend the service this evening.
We have had such a great weekend with our 7 year old Grand daughter Kayla. This was a last minute thing since our son Jeremy had to work in Eugene. Kayla decided she wanted Nana and Papa to herself.
She requested her favorite meal that Papa makes "Goulash" for lunch. After lunch we started right away on a project for Brenda (our African granddaughter)
We started by ripping small pieces of tissue paper. Look at all these colors we had to choose from.
Papa and Kayla
Nana and Kayla
Below Kayla has started laying small pieces on waxed paper.
After completing then we put waxed paper on the top and then sealed it was a hot iron.
We made stain glassed windows. One of these is made with all hearts and then I cut one out in a heart. I know that I am not very creative but I wanted to send something special handmade to Brenda.
After we got done with our project we sat down to watch the movie Tangled. That movie is co cute. When we started the movie Kayla had to make sure she told us a couple of things. First she said to make sure we played in English and second of all or as Kayla put it "By the way when they talk about a satchel they are not saying saddle because they are two different things" LOL....she wanted to narrate the movie for us.
Kayla then wanted Papa to listen to her read.
Soon it was time for bedtime so since Kayla was sleeping with us we decided that we would both read without the TV on. I start reading my book and Kayla starts reading her book OUTLOUD... because she has not learned how to read silently yet. So reading did not last very long. We were looking at a book until Papa came in and told us Alvin and the Chipmunks were going to be on HBO soon. So we watched the movie too. I didn't realize that there were chipettes too.
After the movie it was time to sleep. Kayla woke me up several times during the night. The first time she wanted to know why Papa was not in bed with us (he decided to sleep on the sofa) then she wanted to know why it was so light out at midnight (I told her the moon must be bright) then she told me I was snoring, then she had to go to the restroom, so I got a little sleep until a little after 5 when she woke me up to tell me she had to get up to start getting ready for Church because it takes her a long time to get ready ( I told her it was too early).
We headed out the door at 8 for Church. Our Church had a great Palm Sunday service with the middle school students doing a couple of skits. Kayla headed off to Faith Friends while we enjoyed the Sermon and the rest of the service.
I am pouring out some issues of my heart that I have been working on lately. Believe me I have been praying for these solutions.
Everyone goes through daily situations sometimes stressful and sometimes joyful. I am trying to change my negative to a positive during my bad situations. I am learning to make the most out of that situation and move on. I am learning to let God take the control. It is so hard for me because I am a control person.
While I am waiting I am working on my practice and perseverance too. God wants us to do this and learn how to wait. It is so hard isn’t it? God expects us to trust him and not question why things happen the way they do.
Looking at what I have instead of what I don't have is also something that has helped me through my spiritual growth.
Marvin asked me why I am so cheerful. It is so much better to be cheerful than not. It makes me feel
better too. The good news is that God has promised us eternity and he has given us a small glimpse of what is to come in Heaven. We need to listen and open our eyes. Take time to enjoy the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, listening to the birds sing, listening to songs of worship and praise are just a few. It is so good to be "high" on life.
My ultimate goal while I am waiting is if some one asked one thing about me they said "she has a beautiful heart".
I am thankful that I got our taxes done (with Marvin's help) even though we have to pay.
I am thankful that our daughter Holly and Son in Law Ricky asked us to be their guests when they go to Victoria BC next month. I am so excited. I have been there once but that was for business so I did not have much time to sight see. I also get to have Dinner with a co-worker. Her and I became quick friends and I love her to pieces.
I am thankful for the all the beautiful flowers that are blooming. Tulips are one of my favotite flowers and we will be headed to the Tulip festival in a couple of weeks. They have fields of Tulips. I can't wait to show you pictures.
I am thankful that Marvin and I have jobs . There are still a lot of people that do not have jobs.
I am thankful for my my family at home and at work. I have been so blessed.
I am thankful for KLOVE radio staion. I love to listen that station. It lifts me up everytime I listen to it.
I am thankful for the show Secret Millionaire. I love to see how people with a lot of money use it for good causes and exeperience how the less fortuate live. That is what Jesus wants us to .
I am thankful for Northwood Christian Church. This Church is our home. I love the music, sermons and the people.
This is a picture of my dad with one of the puppets that is used in Puppet Ministry at his Church.
My parents go to a little country Church in Nebraska. My mom has been telling me about this great Ministry and I wish I could see it. I know that there is a lot of practices and classes that are necessary to make it all work and I am not surprised that dad is part of it because he is so giving.
Thanks Dad for being such a great example of a Christian. I Love you!
