It was a nice relaxing weekend with cooler weather. Cleaning, getting groceries, afternoon naps and family time consumed our weekend.
On Saturday we talked to our Georgia grand kids Logan and Emma. We put them on speaker phone so we can both get in on the conversation. They had just got back from the swimming pool so they were tired and Emma assured us that they were all going to bed early. Logan spoke first. He is such a big boy. He will be three in October. He told us that he cleaned his room. I asked who messed it up and he said "I did" he is so innocent. He is talking better than he was a couple of weeks ago when they were here. We ask him a lot of yes and no questions. We never know what he going to say.
Emma has finished her second week of 1st grade. Papa likes to tease her about "boyfriends" and she responds very loudly and clearly "I DON'T HAVE ANY BOYFRIENDS" She told us about what she takes in lunch "just jelly no peanut butter for her sandwich, chips, yogurt, fruit and water" We can't wait to get school updates next week.
Jeremy, Sara, Kayla and Morgan were with us part of the weekend, The kids just say the cutest things. Marvin had spilled the cat food all over and our daughter in law Sara asked Marvin what happened. Marvin said "this is not the time Sara" so Morgan chimed in and said "what happened Papa did you make a mess?" We were all rolling over laughing. In this picture of Morgan she has on a batman costume and a robot that my friend Andrea game me.
Kayla was full of fun this weekend. She was yelling for her dad "come and get your daughter" meaning Morgan because she did not want her in the room. Last weekend she pointed to my eyebrows and said "these are getting gray" I said what about papas beard she said"it is really gray, you guys are getting old" In this picture she is modeling her new raincoat that we let her have early for her birthday present in October.
Today is our granddaughter Morgans 4th birthday. She had a party last weekend. She was so excited about her gifts and cake that her mommy made. Here she is modeling her new raincoat and matching boots Nana and Papa got her. She was so excited to get to blow out the candles Morgan and Kayla in their party dresses (yes they are standing on the love seat) Didn't Morgan mommy make a beautiful cake? and this is the cake that Morgan and Kayla got to decorate. Happy Birthday Morgan! Nana and Papa love you!
We had a great time last week while our three kids and their families gathered at Holly's. That is a total of 12 of us. Though we did not have a lot of time we made the most of the time we had. We have been blessed over and beyond whatever we could imagine and we are so proud of all our children and their accomplishments. We can't wait until we are all able to get together again which will be next year. Our daughter Jennifer and son in law Matt Our son Jeremy and daughter in law Sara Our daughter Holly and son in law Ricky
Kayla is such a sweet little girl. She had so much fun playing with her cousin Emma. She is growing up so fast. Here Kayla is sitting on her Aunt Holly's Lap. Kayla is so excited they moved closer to Holly so they can have sleepovers. LOL Kayla was so excited to draw a picture for our African granddaughter Brenda. Kayla and her sister and cousins playing fun outdoor games Kayla ready for a big hug and here she is modeling a dance pose Kayla and Nana posing together. What a joy Kayla is....
Morgan is so funny. She likes bugs, spiders, snakes. She also likes to cuddle. Logan and Morgan played well together In fact Morgan, Logan and Uncle Matt were wrestling. Logan did not like sharing his daddy but it did not stop Morgan. Uncle Matt gave horsey rides to Morgan and Logan Sometimes she just needed to cuddle with her mommy It was so cute when Morgan put on her "blues" so she could go hunt for spiders and bugs. What a joy Morgan is....
Emma Ann is so sweet and she has so much energy. We really enjoyed talking to her. She seems so grown up. She will be 6 in a couple of weeks. In this picture Emma was learning about our African Granddaughter Brenda. She was telling us that she knows some things about Africa. She drew a very nice picture that we will be sending to Brenda. Cousins Emma and Kayla played so well. Here they are enjoying a yummy appetiser. Emma was the winner in the Easter Egg hunt. Look at all that cash.... Papa had Emma giggling in this picture. Emma and Kayla even liked to cuddle with Nana or should I say JUMP on Nana. We miss Emma already but we will be chatting soon on the phone.
This little guy Logan (our only grandson) made my heart melt. Although he is a rough and tough all boy he is sweetie too. He had Nana laughing so hard. Here he is on Hollys and Rickys hot tub just chillin out.....He climbed up there all by himself..... It was hilarious how he had to keep all his money from the Easter egg hunt in his pocket... Papa was playing a little rough here
Yes we had an Easter egg hunt last Saturday for the all the grandkids together. When I was thinking of activities I thought about how my Georgia grandkids always miss our Easter egg hunt. Marvin and I stuffed 49 plastic eggs with quarters, dollar coins and dollar bills. It was so fun to watch the kids and they were so excited.
We needed to stop and get a few things Saturday morning at the Grocery Store. We had Holly, Ricky, Jennifer, Marvin,me,Kayla,Emma,Morgan and Logan. That is 4 kids ages 6,5,3 and 2. YIKES….Nana does not not like grocery shopping even when it is just me and Papa. This is what it ended up looking like. But you want to know something....I would do it all over again. I already miss the kids.
Saturday morning we headed over to Jeremy's and Sara's in Portland to see their new house and see Logan and Emma for the first time in 2 years. That was such a joy. They ran into their Nana and Papas arms for hugs and kisses. After seeing a tour of their house we ate same breakfast and were entertained by Kayla, Emma and Morgan. They put on a dancing show for our entertainment. It was so cute. We had a good time just visiting UNTIL Kayla and Emma came up with the idea to put hair stuff in Papas hair and beard
Marvin played along and I was laughing so hard and then the girls thought I needed to have my hair done too.
Morgan did not want any part of it and slowly removed all of the clips from my hair. It was so sweet.
We had a great time. Nana and Papa were already tired but a happy tired.
