This is truly one of the Fridays that is "Thanks goodness it is Friday." The weather is okay but I want it to cool down more. Today it is about 56 now and is supposed to be 77 by this afternoon and then in the 80's all next week.
Good News We did not have to replace our sewer line and we were able to patch it for 500.00. That was the best news.
Not good not bad news
We had to go ahead and harvest our pumpkin patch and our backyard is all torn up.
Kayla and Morgan were here to help. They had on their new boots to help.
Morgan just wanted to pick up spiders and snails She was really scaring me. She picked up a grandaddy long legs by one leg and put it in her collection bag. She was so gentle with it. I was about ready to scream. icky icky spider and bugs (except for ladybugs)
Yesterday before we went to worship Marvin walked out of the bedroom with a wrinkled shirt on. I told him it looked terrible. I told him to take it off so I could iron it. He said no he would wear his red Nebraska golf shirt instead. When we walked into church first thing a new member asked us if we were from Nebraska and of course we told him yes. Come to find out him and his wife are both from Nebraska too. He even said that he went hunting in the rural area close to our town. It is such a small world. Now most of you know that Marvin is a Nebraska Husker football fan. But what most of you don't know is our Pastor Barry is a Washington Huskies fan. It just happened that Nebraska plowed over the huskies yesterday at the football. Of course Marvin walked up to the front of the Church before the service to proudly display his Nebraska shirt. There were a few people yelling "now Marv do not rub it in too hard" Pastor Barry took it well. Joking set aside, I told Pastor Barry after church that it was not Marvin's intention to wear that shirt at first but since he wore it we were blessed as we met some new members. Isn't that great?
Yesterdays sermon was on "Radical Gratitude" and this is the verse that used for the sermon 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness Colossians 2:7 (New Living Translation)
It was a great sermon on why we should have gratitude. It honors God, it strengthens relationships, it develops my faith and it is a positive way to share out faith.
It has turned into a great weekend after I ended up Thursday evening in Urgent care for a bladder infection. I worked for about an hour Friday morning and felt so bad I came home. I spent a lot of time in bed but slowly I have felt better.
Yesterday we were blessed with a call from our Georgia grand kids Emma and Logan. They are so cute to talk to. This week Logan told me he had money when I asked him where he got it he said "from Emma's wallet" I was laughing out loud. Emma made it clear to Papa that she does not have any boyfriends and she is tired of him asking. She also sang the State song twice. The second round had me and Papa doing a little dance.
Yesterday afternoon we skyped with our Oregon grand kids Kayla and Morgan. We talked for a few minutes when they said where is Max (the dog) they always want to check on him. Kayla showed us her diary. It was so cute because Morgan got down but she kept yelling in the background that she had a grasshopper. I thought she really had one but it was just a book.
Have a blessed week! Janet
The best medicine that I had was talking to my grand kids and all three of my kids. They are such joy and blessings.
Let me see her I will have to try and remember(the memory seems to be a problem lately for both Marvin and I)
We love love love to talk to our grand kids. We got a kick out of Emma and Logan last Sunday. Emma sang us a new stare song she learned at school. Papa and I were both very impressed. Now for Logan. I tried to get him to sing to me, I asked the that he sing the ABC song but no he wanted Nana to sing it to him. So I gave in and sang for him. He clapped when I was done and told me good job. I was laughing so hard.
Marvin and I still both have our jobs. We are very fortunate because this economy still in not recovered.
My Health-good BP 110/70 and I have lost 3 pounds in 1 month. I am still getting up at 5every morning to get on the treadmill. I went to the dermatologist today and my no cancerous lesion is healing well.
We are happy to have our daughters Jennifer and Holly and their husbands back home from Tennessee. They went to support the Oregon Ducks football team. They had a terrible storm while they were at the game.
We are planning a beach getaway soon.
Not so good things
We have to replace the sewer line in the backyard. It is very expensive about 1800.00
We are going to lose some of our pumpkin patch so they can work on the sewer project.
This is just a small glimpse of what is going on. A lot more good than bad....
Finally I think I am ready to get back to blogging. What have I been doing? I have been focusing on my daily walk. It seems I had so much on my mind it did not leave anytime for blogging. Within the next few days I try to get you all caught up on our latest happenings around here and yes it there have been happenings......
Happy Birthday to our sweet granddaughter Emma who is 6 years old today. What a sweet girl she is. It is hard to believe she is already 6 years old. Emma was born in Germany so we were able to go over to Germany to see our newest blessing when she was 6 weeks old. Emma loves to dance, sing (she have a very good voice) swim, and play Barbies. She loves to play dress up and in fact her mom was going to go buy her some play earrings with some of the birthday money we sent her. Emma is also a good big sister to her brother Logan. We love and miss you Emma.....You are such a joy....We look forward to talking to you soon........
