After we spent the day at the ocean we stopped at a recreational area that has a river where Jeremy had caught some crawdads before. I have never had one or seen one so this was an new experience. We found the spot and the girls changed into their swimsuits. I was the lifeguard on land since Jeremy was in the water and Marvin and Sara don't know how to swim so I was a bit nervous. The girls had a blast by staying in the shallow water.

trying to find some..searching searching searching

Going in a little deeper

He got something-lets take a look

A Slice of Heaven at the Oregon Coast

Yesterday Marvin and I along with Jeremy, Sara, Kayla and Morgan all took off and went to the Coast. Marvin and Sara walked up to get our parking permits when Marvin ran into someone that was from Omaha Nebraska. She has a married daughter lives in Nebraska City. Wow it is such a small world. I was born and raised in Nebraska City.
Anyway we were ready for the hike and the morning had cleared off beautifully for a great day at the beach.
They all started up the path to the lighthouse leaving Nana in the rear.

The girls stopped to pose

It was sunny but cool

and then from the path the girls stop to see the a glorious site

We get the lighthouse and look through the high powered telescopes to see the sea lions and the birds

We head back down the hill but stop for some pictures

Then it time to play in the ocean.....It was so cold....

It is time for a picnic

What a a slice of Heaven at the Oregon Coast.
Stay tuned for part 2 when we stop and go hunting for crawdads....

Ten years ago today my 20 year old nephew went to live with Jesus. Adam was murdered. We do know that he is in the best possible place he can be now which is with Jesus. He is dearly missed. Adam was a son, a brother, a brother in law, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, a grandson, a great grandson, and a friend. Adam knew Jesus and that is the the only good news about him leaving us so soon. Adam was a chef like his brother Brandon and was an athlete. We love you Adam and you live in our hearts forever.

My friend Diane

We still need prayers for my fiend Diane. She is still in the hospital. It seems she starts to get better and then she has some bad days. Since I have last updated about her she has had another brain surgery for a valve replacement on the shunt. She had a seizure and was in ICU for a few days. That was last week. Since she has been back in her regular room she has been doing better and getting therapy. Yesterday she was very tired. The Doctors are trying to get to her a point to have her transferred to the Rehabilitation Center. Keep the prayers coming for her recovery.

A great idea that didn't work so well

I had a great idea to make a Fathers Day card for Marvin from the pets. It came to me yesterday at work. We head out last night to go to Walmart. I told Marvin I would just run in quick to get something but he insisted on going in with me. I had to think quick. I told him I was heading to the Craft isile to buy some washable paints. He asked what I was doing with paints and I said I making something for Brenda (our African daughter) He accepted that answer.
First thing this morning I thought since Marvin was taking Max for his haircut I I would have plenty of time.
I set up 3 different color paints and the put the camera on the tripod. I had figured out how to set the timer and was all set to go.

I grab Tiger and I set the timer on the camera. Once again I failed to get that darn timer to work so I move the tripod and have to reach up and take pictures myself. If you haven't guessed by now I was going to do a paw print card for Marvin from Tiger.

So we start or I start by dipping Tigers paw in the green paint. He of course resists and starts growling

I keep trying to take pictures and I get green paint all over

I finish up becasue of the paint mess. This is what Tiger created.

At this point I am trying to get the paint off Tiger becasue I know that Marvin will wonder why he has green paint all over him. He would have no part of it so I knew I would have to make the card and give it to Marvin right when he got home. When Marvin pulled up I was still working on the card and having massive hot flashes. Marvin love the card.

Our blessing Logan our only grandson

Up until almost 3 years ago we had 3 granddaughters. When our daughter Jennifer called us and told us she was having a boy I think I screamed in the phone. Don't get me wrong I love little girls but I wanted a little grandson. Logan is the cutest littlest fella. He talks a lot and we enjoy talking to him on the phone. We have also got to hear him crying, laughing and fighting with his sister Emma. This is a little about my blessing Logan

He is like a fish and loves the water

He is a camper

He likes big trucks

He like to ride his bike

He likes to get a haircut just like his daddy

He is just plain cute and loves his mommy daddy and big sister Emma
