Our son in law Matt

As you know our son in law Matt is in Afghanistan. Marvin and I are displaying the shirts they had made. Matt is in our prayers along with the other soilders in in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are so proud of Matt. The other end of the scope are the family that wait to hear all is well from their loved ones. Our daughter Jennifer is doing well with Emma and Logan. She has a great support team there with her. We are proud of you Jennifer and Love you.

Beautiful pictures

My grandaughter Kayla drew three pictures for her Nana. I just love these so much I had to share. She is such a joy in my life. I love you Kayla.

Joy in the Moment

I have been enjoying our bible study so much and I am learning a lot. Some of the things that have really stood out to me in the last few weeks are "don't allow the past to dictate the future" wow that is so me. I guess I get stuck in the pit and dig my self out but I jump back in. I am learning and practicing how to stay out of the pit. One way is learning to be content with what I have. I have so much and sometimes it is so hard to see that. I compare myself to others which is so wrong. I am ME. I was created to be unique and God is control and has plans for me. I have so much. I am realizing more everyday that how blessed I really am. I can breathe, have running water, shelter , food, transportation, a JOB, I can see, hear and walk. All of the things I take for granted. I am so rich and it is about time that I open my eyes. This week I am going to work on recognizing the joy in the moment.

This New Year is flying

Wow time is really getting away from me. I am not very good at Blogging. My 49th birthday on December 31st was great. The office girls made my day a special one. We had some delicious creme puffs and raspberries. When I got home my hubby had made me an angel food cake and frosted brownies. It was a very special day. I stayed up until 9:00 and woke up around midnight when the fireworks started. So the new year came in with a bang literally.

No resolutions this year for me. I am starting to exercise and watch what I eat. This is a lifestyle change not a resolution. As I start this new year I remind myself of how I have been blessed with family and friends.

We just started a new bible study on "Making your life count" This week we learned importance vs urgency. I just love our church and our Pastor. I am working on the nine ways to be like Jesus; the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I have a lot of work to do.

This year has also brought another deployment for our son-in-law Matt. It is so hard on Jennifer and the kids as well as Matt. We are here to support them in any way we can.

I am going to close now so I can get ready for a girls night out fondue and Birthday party (I will get presents) .

God Bless you all and I will try to update weekly.
