My Testimony that happened today.

This morning started out like any other morning but I didn't know the plans the Holy Spirit had for me today which has strengthened my faith.

Remember these books I told you all about here.

I try each day to write a verse or something in Marvin's journal.  This morning I had read my daily devotion from Jesus calling, and my Heartlight verse, thought and prayer.  I really wasn't sure what to write in Marvin's book and I had thought that maybe I would wait until tonight.  I then received KLOVES daily encouraging word.

Thursday 3/15/2012
No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
~ Micah 6:8, NLT

I felt that it was a great verse and wrote it in Marvin's journal.  Then it was off to work

Everyday after I get settled in at work I say some prayers and I have been praying to the Holy Spirit to guide, teach and warn me.

Later this morning  I took a little break.   I read something that immediately made me suspicious  and lacking trust of some one.   I was reacting not responding which I just learned about last night at Bible study.  When responding you activate your Faith before you activate your will.

During my lunch break I had decided against going to the mall so I sat at my desk and ate my lunch and read my book.

Below is part of the book that I read while eating my lunch (pg 225)

"The page read Micah at the top.  She had never heard of this person, or perhaps it was a place.   Scanning down, however, her gaze rested on the eighth verse of the sixth chapter."
"He hath shewed thee, O man what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God"

I sat there in my chair as I realized that this was the same verse but different version of what I had wrote in Marvin's book this morning.  I read it several times until I got it.  The Holy Spirit was working through me as I asked him to.  HE had just taught me a lesson about not trusting someone and thinking that I have the answers for it all.

I hope you day was filled with as much joy as mine.

Blessings

The Joy of being a Grandparent

Yesterday Marvin and I drove up a couple of hours from home to spend Grandparents day with our 5 year old granddaughter Morgan at pre-school.  She is pictured below in blue with the great big smile.

After they sang us a few songs Morgan showed us her classroom.  She is standing under a swirly that she made and is so proud of.

Then it was story time for the kids.

We moved into a large room so we could work on the activity together.  Here Morgan and I are busy cutting and pasting.  My son Jeremy is standing to the left watching.

The picture below shows Papa Marvin, Morgan, Morgans sister Kayla and our daughter in law Sara's grandparents that were there to enjoy their great grand daughter
Below the kids were dancing in the aisles of the Church during "Chapel".  The youth director from the church plays his guitars and sang while we all were dancing and doing motions from the song.  We had a lot of fun

There was a puppet show that was entertaining.

You can tell that Morgan was enjoying the show while she was sitting with her great grandpa Bob

It was a beautiful day outside so I snapped a picture of the girls on the way out.

What a blessed time we spent with our grand kids and family.  I feel like the luckiest grandmother alive.

Our week

We had a wintry week which caused to some slippery roads on a Wednesday.  The snow was so beautiful.  There were large feathery snowflakes.  I am however glad that it is gone.  Our city is not set up for snowstorms and people do not know how to drive in it.

Our bible study group continues to amaze me.  I have learned so much.  We are studying the Holy Spirit through the scriptures and  Charles Stanley's book "A spirit filled life".  This book captures the Holy Spirit.  I believe the Holy Spirit is one in the Trinity, The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.  I believe that the Holy Spirit lives in my heart and HE is aways there.  HE is there to teach, guide, warn, intercede, assure, directs, convicts and illuminates.  We are never alone.

I have been have some ongoing dental issues that seem to be getting worse.  Thursday I had a long exam and xrays with my new Dentist.   I will consult with him in a few weeks with his studies and findings.   I found out I have a cross bite and that my teeth are so worn from my grinding and clinching.  Not sure what my options will be but this Dentist is showing me the whole picture of what 20 years down the road may look like.   My Jaw pain which one Dentist thought is TMJ is on the highest level of pain now for me.

I am looking forward to a road trip next week so we can spend Grandparents Day with Morgan at pre-school.  What a joy grandchildren are.

Have a great week ahead!

Our granddaughter Emma and Grandson Logan

Our granddaughter Emma had eye surgery back in December to correct her lazy eyes.  When our daughter Jennifer took her back for a checkup it appears that the surgery may have been a failure.  They knew that this surgery does not work sometimes.  For the next 30 days Emma has to wear a patch over one eye alternating it each day.
This picture is the first day that she started and she was so excited
This is a picture taken today and she is still smiling.  She is holding up an artichoke.  We are praying that the patch helps her eyes.

I just had to post a picture of our grandson Logan too with his artichoke.
We really miss these two kids.  We are anxiously awaiting to see them in July or August.

PS:   I am final not experiencing any pain from my dental surgery, thanks for all the prayers.

Have a good week!

A room in progress to relax in

My room used to be Hollys bedroom when she lived at home.  After she moved out we still left the color on walls a dark lavender color.  We put a large computer desk in it, 2 larges bookshelves, a lot toys for the grand kids and Max's bed.  I looked through a lot of pictures and this is the only one I could find of the room before
On one shelf I had my collections of books, cookbooks and then on the other shelf was for kids books, games and toys.  There was a highchair, the big computer desk, printer and computer.  Also we had a couple of totes of toys, a small table and chairs for the kids and Max's bed and food.  So this room held so much.
Once Max passed I decided to remake this room for a reading/craft room for me.  So it all started with this beautiful futon that my daughter Holly gave me..

Marvin painted the room butter yellow.

I found a beautiful desk

I headed to the antique store and found a shabby chic night stand and a lamp
I found this pretty red stand that opens with shelves
I found this beautiful chair and a small quilt on the futon along with a white cover for the futon.

So the room is not finished by far but this is just a small glimpse of it   It is my work in progress.

Have a great week!

What we been doing

How can be February already????  It has been quite a year already for us.  Recently I am nursing my latest dental issue.  I had dental surgery almost a week ago to have a gum flap (they cut open my gum to see if a crowned tooth was broke) it was broke in half and badly decayed even into the roots.  Needless to say I will NOT being going back to my regular dentist.   I had been going in to him several times with gum pain over the past 6 months.    I had to have the tooth extracted and a bone graft.  After healing I will need an implant.  So not only do I have physical pain I have a pocketbook pain.  But I am thankful to have dental insurance and Marvin's HSA plan which will help with some of the cost.

We have started back up with bible study.  We are study the Fruits of spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.  In conjunction with the study we are also reading this book,

Just after the first of the year Marvin and I started another project. This project for the heart I thought would be for better communication and a growth between God, Marvin and I.
I went to Ross and found a couple of journals.  In the journals we write in ours and each others.  We write of blessings, negative things that have happened and then seeing the positive out of the issue.  There are no rights or wrongs to write in this book.  Sometimes we write about the sermon or just simply a bible verse.      It is fun to see what was written in our journals.  I will update later and let you know how this project is going.

And now for a household project.  Since Max is gone we have started a complete remodel of his room.  This room will be my reading/craft room.  We have moved the Futon in there as well.
Here is a small peak.
The color of the room is butter yellow.
I found this cute desk at TJ Maxx/Homegoods.  In fact the room was going to be this green color before I found it.  That all I going to show you for now since I am still working on it.  But I am so excited.

On a sadder note.  I lost my ex-sister-in-law Patty a week and a half of go.  She was only 48.  Her heart stopped during surgery.  Though Patty had not been in my life for a while she still was family.  I loved her.  I believe she was put on earth to help people because that is what she did.  In her death she blessed many people since she was an organ and tissue donor.

That is just a small peak about what is going on.  Even though we have had a lot of bad things happen this year we are finding blessings that have come out of each of them.  Jesus is leading my way and I am trying to walk by faith instead of sight trusting God completely.

Blessings
